The Ambassador of India in Tunisia, Mr. Bonate R. Kundal, visited the Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy on Wednesday, August 27, 2020, where he was greeted by the center's president, Dr. Radwan Al-Masmoudi, and project managers, Wissam Al-Toumi and Mr. Nabil Al-Labasi.
The visit was an opportunity to brief the ambassador on the center's activities and its role in supporting the democratic transition in Tunisia and the consolidation of democracy through a series of meetings, dialogs, and convergence of views on contentious issues, as well as projects directed specifically at youth, imams and religious actors.
Dr. Radwan al—Masmoudi said the center seeks to dismiss the notion of conflict between Islam and democracy. He praised the relations that bring India and Tunisia together and their post—revolution development and expressed his hope for further deepening this relationship in all areas.
