
On Monday, December 7, 2020, Adnan Bouassida, Head of the Municipality of Rawad and Head of the National Union of Municipalities, received a delegation from the Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy, led by the center's president, Radwan Al-Masmoudi, and his deputy, Salahuddin Al-Jurshi.
The meeting comes as part of a discussion on the partnership between the Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy, the municipality of Rawad, and the National University of Tunisian Municipalities to support the implementation of community projects for the youth participating in the "Youth Leaders for a Better Tomorrow" project, as well as the goal of enhancing the participation of youths and citizens in general local affairs.
Mr. Adnan Bou'asida expressed his willingness to cooperate to support the youth leadership and to make his community initiative a success that aims to address some of the problems in the areas.
The Center for the Study of Islam and Democracy (CSID) launched a "Youth Leader Project" in January 2020, in which 200 young men and women from 5 states (Greater Tunisia, Bizerte, Jendouba, Kairouan, Sfax) received training for more than 9 months on combating corruption and extremism, instilling values of citizenship and democracy, leadership skills, community entrepreneurship.
These young people are presenting 31 community projects that are concerned with various fields, such as combating corruption, fighting extremism, confronting school dropouts, drug resistance, protecting the environment, and others. The second part of this project started in 2020 to benefit five other states: Sousse, Sidi Bouzid, Kasserine, Madinen, Gabes.
